DeductiBee vs DeductAble AI
DeductAble shipped on October 22, 2025, one day after ItsDeductible went dark, and it is the most capable of the apps that rushed into the gap. It costs exactly what DeductiBee costs, it is already on the App Store, and its AI photo capture is genuinely faster than typing. The difference is what a value is made of and where the record ends up. Everything below was read from their own pages and App Store listing on August 9, 2026.
Pricing at a glance
Free tier is permanent: 20 new item entries a year, unlimited donation events, and unlimited import and viewing of your own history. Pro is $19.99 a year, $2.99 a month, or $59.99 once. Exporting your raw data is free on every tier.
Free to download with in-app purchases. Their site advertises $19.99 a year for unlimited; the App Store listing shows a $19.99 All Access purchase alongside a $2.99 one. Identical to DeductiBee's annual price, and they have no lifetime option listed.
Feature comparison
Written to be checkable. Where a plain "no" would misrepresent DeductAble, the cell says what it actually does instead.
| Feature | DeductiBee | DeductAble AI |
|---|---|---|
| Status todayDeductiBee is not on the App Store yet. Everything in the DeductiBee column describes v1.0 as scoped, not a shipping product. | In development for iPhone | Shipping since October 22, 2025. Version 2.7.1, 4.1 stars from 9 ratings. |
| PriceThe annual price is the same to the cent. This one does not come down to money. | Free for 20 new item entries a year, then $19.99 a year, $2.99 a month, or $59.99 once | Free tier, then $19.99 a year. No lifetime purchase listed as of August 9, 2026. |
| Platforms | iPhone | iPhone (iOS 16 and later) and the web. No Android listed. |
| How you enter a donationTheir capture is faster than ours. If entry speed is what stops you tracking donations, weigh that heavily. | Pick from the catalog, or add a whole bag at once by condition tier and quantity | Photograph the items and their AI identifies and values them, plus voice entry and chat-style logging |
| Where the values come fromA confidence score tells you how sure the model is. It does not tell an examiner where the number came from. | Ranges derived from published thrift-store valuation guides and the methodology in IRS Publication 561, with the source shown next to every range | A catalog they describe as 1,400+ items, with AI-assigned fair market values carrying a confidence score. We could not find a published source or methodology for the underlying values on their site as of August 9, 2026. |
| Catalog size | 1,172 donatable goods at launch, 784 of them with a cited value range and the rest set up for a custom figure | Described as a 1,400+ item pricing database |
| Where your records live | On your iPhone, syncing only through your own private iCloud database. We operate no server that can read them. | Cloud backup with multi-device sync, which is what makes their web version work |
| What the app collects | Nothing. There is no DeductiBee account, no analytics on your donation data, and no server of ours it could be sent to. | Their App Store privacy card lists financial info, coarse location, photos, usage and crash diagnostics, and product interaction analytics, all as data not linked to your identity. They state they never sell your information. |
| Account required | No account. Sync, if you turn it on, uses your Apple ID. | An account, which is what the cloud sync and web version run on |
| Working offline | Fully offline. Logging at a drop-off needs no signal. | Not described on their public pages as of August 9, 2026. Their AI valuation is a server-side feature, so it is unlikely to work without a connection. |
| Condition tiers | Like new, Good, Fair, priced separately for every item | Not described on their public pages as of August 9, 2026 |
| Photo evidence | Photos on items and on the drop-off receipt, on the free tier | Central to the product: photos and documents are how you enter a donation, and they are parsed by AI |
| Charity lookup | Not in v1. Organizations are a saved list you manage yourself, and deleting one never deletes its donations. | Charity favorites and 501(c)(3) verification |
| Donation typesNeither product tracks stock at present. DeductiBee adds out-of-pocket volunteer expenses at v1. | Items, cash, mileage, and volunteer out-of-pocket expenses | Cash, goods, and mileage |
| ExportsClose to parity here, and one of the few competitors that produces an 8283 worksheet at all. | Form 8283 worksheet PDF, CSV, TXF, a receipt PDF with signature lines, and a manual-entry summary for TurboTax Online | CSV, TXF, and PDF, plus Form 8283 worksheet generation |
| ItsDeductible import | Both the pre-shutdown CSVs and the spreadsheet from an Intuit data request, free on every tier | ItsDeductible history import from CSV and XLSX |
| Raw data export | Free on every tier, permanently, including after a subscription lapses | They state you own your data and can export or delete it anytime. Whether raw export survives a lapsed subscription is not something their public pages state as of August 9, 2026. |

Where DeductAble is genuinely ahead
It exists. It has been on the App Store since the day after the shutdown, it has real ratings, and you can install it this afternoon. DeductiBee cannot say any of that yet, and no amount of argument about data provenance changes it.
Its capture is also better than ours. Photographing a pile and letting a model identify and value the items removes the single biggest reason people stop tracking donations, which is that entry is boring. DeductiBee answers the same problem with bulk bag entry by condition tier, which is faster than item-by-item but slower than a camera.
What we would ask you to weigh against that: an AI confidence score is a statement about the model, not about the market. Their catalog values have no published source we could find. If a deduction is ever questioned, “the app was 92% confident” is a weaker answer than a named valuation guide and an IRS Publication 561 methodology you can hand to a preparer.
Which is right for you
DeductiBee is the better fit if
- You want every suggested value to arrive with the published guide it was derived from.
- You would rather your donation records, photos, and location never left your phone.
- You want the app to work with no signal, standing at a donation bin.
- You want a lifetime purchase instead of a subscription that renews forever.
- You want three condition tiers, including one for things that were never used.
DeductAble AI is the better fit if
- You want to photograph a pile of clothes and have it entered for you, which is genuinely faster.
- You want something you can install today rather than in November.
- You want the same tracker in a desktop browser as well as on your phone.
- You want 501(c)(3) verification built in.
- Voice entry or chat-style logging is how you would actually use this.
Bottom line: Same price, and the closest thing to a real fight in this category. DeductAble is faster to enter a donation into and it is available now. DeductiBee's case is that the number you claim should come with a source attached, and that a donation history containing photos of your house should not be sitting in a vendor's cloud alongside coarse location data. If speed of capture is your problem, take theirs. If defensibility is, take ours.
