Donation value lookup, 2026 values
One item, one condition, one answer. Pick what you gave and you get the suggested fair market value, the supported range behind it, what the condition tier means, and the published guide the figure came from. It runs entirely in your browser.
- Items covered
- 1,172
- Value sources
- 20
- Valuation edition
- 2026.1
Search 1,172 donatable goods, or pick a category to browse it. Nothing you type is uploaded.
Pick an item above and you get one answer: the suggested fair market value, the supported range behind it, what the condition tier means, and the published guide the figure came from. Gave a whole carload rather than one thing? The donation value calculator adds up a list.
Which one do you need?
Same dataset, same values, different job. Pick by how much you gave, not by which link you found first.
One item: this page
You gave a couch, or a coat, and you want to know what it is worth. Search it, pick the condition, read the range. Nothing to build up, nothing to download, and the link is shareable.
A whole load: the calculator
You filled a car and need one documented total for the year, with a line per item and a CSV at the end. Open the donation value calculator.
The tier you pick is most of the answer
Condition moves a value more than almost anything else about an item, so it is the one judgement this tool asks you to make.
- Like new
- Unworn or barely used, with tags or as good as. The top of the published range.
- Good
- Used, complete, clean, and working, with no notable damage. The middle of the range.
- Fair
- Visible wear but still usable and saleable. The bottom of the range, and generally the lowest condition that can be claimed at all.
Each tier maps to a band inside the range the source guide published: Like new sits at the top of it, Good in the middle, Fair at the bottom. There is no tier below Fair on purpose. Household goods generally must be in good used condition or better to be deductible at all, so a tier for worn-out goods would be offering a number for something that generally cannot be claimed.
The answer arrives as a range with a suggested point inside it, never a bare number. The point is not the figure. The point is that you can show where the figure came from.
The honest limits of a lookup
A tool that overstates what it can do is worth less than one that says where it stops.
- It does not tell you what you will save. Fair market value is not the deduction, and the deduction is not the tax saved. A deduction reduces taxable income, so the effect depends on your rate and on whether you itemize at all. That is a separate tool.
- It does not know your item. The catalog values a category of thing, not the specific thing in your hallway. A designer coat and a supermarket coat are not the same donation, and where the catalog draws that line is visible in the item names.
- It does not remember anything. There is no account and no server, so nothing you type is uploaded or stored. Copy the link if you want the answer to survive the tab.
Where to go from a single value
A value is the first step of three. These are the pages that carry the other two.
- ValuesValues by itemThe per-item pages, with what drives value in that category and the evidence that supports a tier.
- ValuesDonation value guideEvery value in the catalog, by category, with the derivation and the source list behind each range. Edition 2026.1.

Where these values come from
Every range on this page traces to one of these. Values are derived from the published ranges, never copied from another product’s valuation database, and never invented where no source covers an item.

The app remembers what the lookup cannot.
DeductiBee carries the same dataset on your iPhone, logs a drop-off in seconds, keeps a photo with each item, and exports a Form 8283 worksheet at filing time.
Same numbers, offline
The valuation dataset ships inside the app, so it works with no connection and no account.
